Resist VAW & Legal Support
Since its inception BMP is continuing its multidimensional activities to resist & reduce VAW. BMP mobilizes public opinion against VAW and raised its voice for legal reform, enactment of new laws and establishment of Uniform Family Code.
BMP provides legal aids to all women, specially the poor and powerless, to enable and protect them against violence and also to negotiate their rights. BMP adopt informal and alternative method of dispute relation arising out of desertion, divorce, dowry, polygamy etc. BMP also extends its full cooperation in filing criminal cases rape, murder and trafficking and bringing the culprit to justice. The legal maintain a strong social support service like providing safe shelter and rehabilitation access for seeking a normal life for victim. BMP has direct contribution towards drafting and passing of the “Women and Child Repression Act, 2000”. BMP also conducts legal counseling & literacy program, interact with legal, judicial and medical person and maintain liaison with law enforcing agency.
