Some immediate past activities which were organized by Movement Sub-Committee:
1. Press conference was organized by Social Action Committee at Dhaka Reporter's Unity auditorium jointly with, Sanghati & Sangat Bangladesh to protest murder of Advocate Dilruba Haque Papia at her father-in-law's residence in Barisal on November 3, 2005. Written statement was read out. Beside Bangladesh Mahila Parishad, representatives of Proshika, Mahila Muktijoddah Sangsad, Concern Bangladesh and other human rights activists were present.
2. Memorial meeting to observe sixth death anniversary of Poet Sufia Kamal was organized by Social Action Committee on November 20th 2005 at National Press Club auditorium presided by Vice President of Bangladesh Mahila Parishad Selina Khaleque. Representatives of twenty organizations paid their respect to late Sufia Kamal expressing their commitment to carry forward her teachings. Eminent cultural personality Dr. Sanjida Khatun was also spoken at the occasion. Participants includes Bangladesh Mahila Parishad, Ain-o-Salish Kendra, Karamojibi Nari, BNWLA, Bangladesh Nari Progati Sangha, IED, Naripokkha, BAWSE, Women for Women, Action Aid Bangladesh, Steps Towards Development, YWCA, Sex Workers Network, Bangladesh Mahila Samity, Mahila Muktijoddha Sangsad, Sammilito Samajik Andolon and BRAC.
3. On October 30, 2005, memorandum was submitted by Social Action Committee to Draft Committee of 14 Party Alliance of political parties to re-invoke provision of Women Development Policy '97, which has been removed by present government. Seventeen organization's representatives of Social Action Committee met with the leaders. They includes Bangladesh Mahila Parishad, Karmojibi Nari, Steps Towards Development, Ain-o-Salish Kendra, BNWLA, Bangladesh Mahila Samity, Mahila Muktijoddah Sangsad, Protibondi Nari Parishad, Bangladesh Nari Progati Sangha, The Hunger Project Bangladesh, Kannya Shishu Advocacy Forum, Campaign for Popular Education, ADD Bangladesh and Women for Women. Representatives also met with Gono Forum President Dr. Kamal Hossain's at his law chamber subsequently for the same issue.
4. A human chain program was organized by Social Action Committee on 29 November 2005 in front of Bangladesh Supreme Court demanding arrest and exemplary punishment of killer of Advocate Dilruba Haque Papia who was murdered at her father-in-law's residence at Barishad on November 3, 2005. The orgnaizations including Bangladesh Mahila Parishad, Ain-o-Salish Kendra, Karmojibi Nari, Mahila Muktijoddha Sangsad, Samata, Steps Towards Development, Bangladesh Nari Progati Sangha, IED, Dept. of Women Affairs, Sangat Bangladesh, Yukta, Bangladesh Mahila Samity, Concern Bangladesh, TIB, ADD Bangladesh, The Hunger Project Bangladesh, SAP Bangladesh, BNWLA, Mahila Parishad Dhaka City, NGO Forum and Papia Murder Action Committee were also present at the human chain.
At the same human chain voice was raised against the bomb attacks by fundamentalist in Chittagong and Gazipur court premises killing at least 10 innocent citizens and several injuring in the same morning.
