Bangladesh Mahila Parishad (BMP) has organized a day long training program on
Financial Management for the Branch Organizers that was held on 2nd of
December, 2005 at the Sufia Kamal Auditorium of BMP Central Committee
Office. Representatives i.e. Secretaries and Treasurers from nineteen
branches were attended.
The training was presided over by Dr. Makduma Nargis Ratna, the vice
President of BMP. The General Secretary Ms. Ayesha Khanam, inaugurated
the training with her sagacious speech. She called upon the participants
to take the opportunity of maximizing their professional skill through
this training particularly in the area of financial management. She
reiterated the need of having this kind of skill to make the BMP a
sustainable organization. Dr. Maleka Banu, Assistant General Secretary of
the organization said that there is no alternative to ensuring sound,
accountable & transparent management of finance in all spheres of the
organization for it’s sustainability. Ms. Dil Afroz Begum, Treasurer of
the organization delivered her speech on importance of effective
financial management for a non profit organization. Mr. Shishir Debnath,
Director, Finance & Administration spoke on different aspects of
financial management, GAAP and internal control matters. Mr. Solaiman,
Chief Accountant, delivered speech on budget and it’s different aspects.
Ms. Tapashi Saha, took the session on cash management and financial
report preparation, Mr. Sayeed Mahmud, Accountant, took session over how
to prepare voucher and classify the heads of accounts. A group exercise
was held in participation of all participants over the whole accounting
process of a branch.
The President delivered her speech at the closing of the program gave
emphasis over the necessity of effective management of finance.
